Defect Summary:	THE INVOLVED VEHICLES CONTAIN DEFECTIVE BALL STUDS THAT WERE IMPROPERLY HEAT-TREATED AND THUS CONTAIN CRACKS. THESE STUDS, LOCATED IN THE PITMAN ARM, COULD EVENTUALLY FRACTURE IN THE THREADED PORTION UNDER THE RETAINING NUT.
